John Carroll is a professor of Computer Science and the director of Virginia Tech's Human-Computer Interaction Lab. Dr. Carroll's research in human-computer interaction consists of the design concepts for usable systems and software, instructional and educational systems, usability of object-oriented software and the history of technology. Although Dr. Carroll is currently a Computer Science professor, his educational background lies in mathematics, information systems and experimental psychology.
